I took shop my first year in high school, more I think as what I perceived as an easy subject. Not. At that time, 1944/45, there was a GI Bill for returning Veterans
and Mr. Griego and Principal Rex Bell worked out a deal whereby the Vets could take
the course of study under Mr. Griego using Socorro High School facilities. It was benificial for all. The main starting project was the new imprinted/carved pews for
San Miguel Catholic church.
